The Critics Say...

"Loretta's almost operatic alto and Curtis' rich tenor form a lush, polished and varied vocal blend. The pair's instrumental interplay is equally compelling, with Loretta's harp textures dancing in and around Curtis' deft guitar and mandolin lines."                          ... Dirty Linen

CURTIS & LORETTA SHOWS FOR SENIORS!

Besides doing concerts at folk venues and festivals, Curtis & Loretta also do shows at senior retirement homes. Scroll to the bottom of this page for video at some of those shows!

CURTIS TEAGUE and LORETTA SIMONET are a married couple who have performed together as professional musicians for over 40 years.  They have given hundreds of concerts, at over two hundred health care centers, assisted living facilities, senior apartment buildings, and senior centers throughout the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul), and across the U.S.   They were named “Best Acoustic Performers of the Twin Cities” by City Pages, the entertainment newspaper of Minneapolis-St. Paul.

TYPE OF MUSIC--Curtis & Loretta do lots of popular songs from the 1930s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, that seniors would recognize and enjoy, such as "Hey Good Lookin," Let Me Call You Sweetheart," "Springtime in the Rockies," and many, many more.  They accompany themselves on folk harp, guitars, banjo, and ukulele.  They have extraordinary singing voices and use lots of harmony.  Victory Music Review, a national folk music magazine published in Seattle says "Their harmonies are gorgeous;  each has a full, warm voice."    There’s a lot of variety in their shows; love songs, show tunes, an Irish song or two, patriotic songs, and some real toe-tapping songs with the ukulele!

RAPPORT WITH AUDIENCE--The duo has performed for virtually all types of audiences, from fully independent senior groups and apartment buildings, to medium-care facilities, to memory care units.  They are very comfortable with any audience, and gear the show for the listeners.  Humor in between songs is always a part of the performance, and they encourage audience members to join in if they wish, whether they sing, whistle, or just tap their toes or fingers.

AVAILABILITY--Curtis & Loretta's schedule is very flexible.  They are available for morning, afternoon, or evening senior shows, on weekdays, and sometimes on weekends.

BOOKING & FEE -- For more information, or to book a show, please call Loretta Simonet at  (612) 812-4555, or email her at loretta@curtisandloretta.com. References are available on request.
